Hi, My name is Wanda Jordan. I was diagnosed with scleroderma in 1997 almost one year after I gave birth to my now 9 year old son. I have raynauds, acid reflux, telangiectasia and diminished lung capacity.

I have been blessed over these last nine years because when I was first diagnosed, I was told I would be completely disabled in less than 5 years. I have improved over the years, but things are still tough. Besides my son I have a husband and two step-daughters. I have a wonderfully supportive family, but there are times when I feel like I am all by myself.

I have been taking methotrextae for the past 8 years and I have to admit, it has worked wonders for my arthritis. I realy can not compalin, but lately I have been experiencing some sever pain, tightness and swelling in my lower leg area. My doctors, as most of you probably know, are trying to help, but scleroderma is such a rare illness that I know most of them have no clue what to tell me to do. I have seen several dermatologists about the skin changes and I have seen numerous rheumatologists over the years, I am just at a loss of what to do next. I guess I am just looking to speak with others who are experiencing the same symptoms I have because sometimes I just don't feel as if anyone understands.

I am thankful just to be able to share my experience and maybe there is someone that can offer some words of advice. Thank You.
